MISSION:

The Volunteer Administrators of Southwestern Pennsylvania (VASP) is an organization for leaders of volunteers, providing opportunities for professional development, networking, and support to enhance the performance of its members. VASP members subscribe to a nationally-recognized code of ethics and create volunteer programs that meet the professional standards of the field.

VASP achieves its mission by:

  • Exchanging and disseminating information concerning volunteer services administration.
  • Promoting the growth and recognition of volunteerism.
  • Developing and establishing standards and sound practices for volunteer services administration.
  • Providing leadership and advocacy on issues of volunteerism at the local, state, and national levels.
  • Offering an opportunity for continuing education of members through its programs.
  • Encouraging and assisting members to develop and increase their competence in the field of volunteer services administration.
  • Providing outreach and support for new directors of volunteer services.
  • Educating paid staff to the needs of and benefits derived from volunteers.

VISION STATEMENT:

VASP will achieve and maintain excellence as a professional association for individuals who manage volunteer programs.
